Sunday....finally!!

This has been a crazy few days. First I had to work this weekend so that just puts a strain on anything I do! Luckily we haven't been too busy so that makes it easier. VBS starts tomorrow and I hadn't decorated my room yet so Saturday John and I went to the church and hung stars from the ceiling. The theme is a western/ranch theme so I went for the starry nights out on the plains. Looks pretty cool. Now I am just trying to get all the crafts prepared! Ugh! Why do I do this to myself! To make matters worse, Ethan started running a fever again last night. I am so tired of my family being sick. We managed to go one entire week without illness. That is it. I need to get him in to the allergist again because it is his sinuses that are bothering him...poor kid!

Today's challenge is to write about my perfect day. There are so many things I would want to do that one day would not be enough. The perfect day for me would be that I would get to sleep in without anyone waking me up, I would get to lounge around for about an hour, take a shower without any interuptions!, scrap about and hour, have lunch brought to me, play with the kids all afternoon (with no crying, fussing, or fighting). Then go on a date with John somewhere where there were no kids, then collapse into bed with a good book! This could happen but highly unlikely anytime soon!

Hump Day!!

TS Daily challenge: Something you really like about yourself.

Hmm...I have been in one of those funks lately and it is hard to find things I really honestly like about myself. I have always liked my personality because that has never changed. I'm also a very honest person. It really bothers me when I am lied to or someone over embellishes the truth. I hate when people do that to me so I make it a point to never do that to anyone.

Tuesday 6.5.07

Today the TS blog challenge is to write about someone in our family. I thought I would tell you about my brother since a lot of people don't realize I even have one! He is one of the best brothers anyone could ever have. We are only 21 months apart in age and growing up we were pretty close. We even shared some of the same classes in highschool. Shortly after Anna turned 1, he moved to Keywest Florida.....way the heck away! That bummed me because he had just moved to the KC area about a year before that. Good news though....at the end of his lease he is giving his 2 weeks and moving back to Kansas!! Yea!! My kids will love that. He will live with my parents temporarily because he wants to get a job in Alaska!! What is this boy thinking?? He is an outdoorsy kind of guy so I am sure that has a lot to do with it. Personally...I hope he stays here. He has a better chance of finding a girlfriend here.

Fun day!

Today was such a fun day. I took a nap this morning with Samantha then went shopping for scrap supplies....just for the fun of it! I didn't get to scrap until later tonight but that was o.k. I got to play with the kids and I fixed a great meal (grilled chicken, salad, corn on the cob, bread, and some carrot with dip before hand) Later we all went for a walk at Frisco park and walked all around the pond (about a mile) My legs are still sore from this past weekend but I toughed it out!

Today TS challenge is to write about to tell you all something quirky about me. The first thing that comes to mind is how I eat pizza. I never eat it all at once. I eat the topping first then the crust. I have done this ever since I was a kid. I think it was because I was such a picky eater that I picked everything off first that I didn't like (olives, mushrooms, peppers, etc) then ate as I went. I still do that today..even with cheese pizza! I get laughed at but that is o.k.!

Safe at home

Well after another 5 hours at the zoo, we arrived home at about 8:30. We are all dead tired too. Didn't take long for the kids to go out either. They took a quick bath and went to bed with no books. Ethan has a field trip tomorrow at preschool and Anna has her first day of summer camp. Me...I am going to try and sleep and scrap! I am not even going to think about laundry until maybe tomorrow night! I am all excited to start making a mini book of all the great zoo pictures I got!!

Treasured Scrapbooking daily challenge: Our first driving lesson

I was 14 years old and all four of us were eating at pizza hut. This was probably a few weeks before my driver's ed started. We were leaving when my dad decided that I could use some practice before I went to school. There is this old country road we could take home to avoid traffic so Dad drove to the road and then I took over. I was so nervous! I did fine except for the turn right infront of our house. I was going a tad too fast and my mom let me know! Dad was calm, Travis was just laughing, but my mom yelled slow down many times and very loud! I wish I knew how fast I took it because I know I never took it that fast again! Even now I don't take that turn too fast because it is right where a dirt road and pavement meet. Easy to slide there!

Totally Exhausted!

Well after a rought night with no sleep, we managed to get to the zoo at almost 11am!! Samantha woke up at 2am and didn't really go badk to sleep for about 4 hours....very rough! Anyway we only saw about half of the zoo in the 6 hours we were there. We did see the aquarim and the desert dome and those were loads of fun. It did rain on us off and on but we managed to be in sheltered areas when it did. Luckily it never lasted more than 10 minutes at a time! John is now swimming with the kids while I stayed here to put Samantha to bed. That was an easy job. I somewhat caught up with my boards so now I can do the TS daily blog challenge!! Today we are to blog about a childhood memory. Hmm...I have so many and I am not sure which one to share!

Some of my favorite memories were when I was in Indiana staying with my grandparents. We did this every summer and we would stay for nearly a month. One year, we were there at the same time my cousins from Texas were there. Oh the fun! We would walk down a path through the cornfield, then through the woods, crossed over a creek, and then ran past a cow that wasn't so nice just to go swimming at my uncle's swimming pool. Oh and the Deer flies would eat us up on the way so we had to cover ourselves with these huge bath sheets to protect us. We would swim for hours if Grandma would let us. We made this journey every day too! It saddens me to no end that grandma's house isn't there anymore, the pool is filled in and soon my uncles house will be gone (which happens to be where my mom grew up!) They still live on farms but just in different locations so I can't take my kids there and share with them my fondest memories. I will have to do a book for them just so they can live it through my memories!
